Clean-Up Project Will Have a Lucky Winner

Mosses:  Saturday, June 28 will be the date for the clean-up of Highway 2 leading from Hayneville to Mosses.  Participants will begin from both directions and attempt to clean up that highway, which has long been disdained for profuse amounts of highway trash.  Lowndes Citizens United for Action (LCUFA) and the Town of Mosses have partnered to organize the clean-up, which will begin at 7 a.m. sharp.

This time, however, one lucky person will win $100.00.  "It is our way of making a hard job fun", says LCUFA President Debra Harris.  "We are going to provide lunch and door prizes for the people who get out there and clean up their community".  To qualify for the big prize, participants must be present at 7 a.m. and work until 11 a.m.

"We are asking everyone to come out and help with this effort", stated Mosses Mayor William Scott.  "We are hoping churches and community groups give us a few hours of their time", he concluded.

The project is made possible through a grant from the Cornerstone Community Foundation, and the assistance of WildLaw, a nonprofit environmental law firm, and Lowndes Garbage Service.  For more information on the project, contact Debra Harris at 334-613-7891
